GFDMV started with a simple frustration shared by countless families across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area — the exhausting, sometimes dangerous guessing game of finding restaurants that could safely accommodate food allergies.
We saw a gap that no one was filling. The big platforms didn't care enough. The small blogs couldn't scale. And the local allergy-friendly food makers — the incredible bakeries and small businesses doing this right — had no platform to reach the people who needed them most.
So we built one. A place where the DMV's allergy-conscious community can find trusted restaurants, discover local makers, share family recipes, and eat freely — without the anxiety.

- Payment Information: Payment details are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.

- Dietary Preferences: Allergy and dietary filters you use during your session to provide relevant results. This data is not stored permanently.

- Process and fulfill orders placed through the GFDMV marketplace

4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share limited information with:
- Local Makers & Vendors: Your name and delivery address are shared with the maker fulfilling your order.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data.
- Service Providers: Trusted third-party services that help us operate the site (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for site hosting).
5. Cookies
We use session storage (not persistent cookies) to keep you logged into the site during your visit. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Maker Applications
When you submit a listing request through our "Get Listed" form, we collect your business name, business type, contact name, email address, location, business description, allergy practices, and optional website or social media links. This information is used solely to evaluate your listing request and contact you about being included in the GFDMV directory. Listing data is stored securely and is not shared with third parties. If your request is declined, your data will be retained for 12 months then deleted.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. To make a request, contact us at the email below. If you are located in the EU or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR and CCPA respectively.
9. Children's Privacy
GFDMV is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
